Raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
This February I am taking part in the 28 Challenge, and every pound I raise, will help train more life-changing hearing dogs for deaf people.
I will be making and selling a minimum of 28 items: dog bandanas and small fabric toys.
Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, such as the smoke alarm, alarm clocks and even intruder alarms and baby monitors. They also provide lots of love, companionship and emotional support, which is really important as many deaf people can feel lonely and isolated.
It costs £25,000 to fully train a hearing dog, so by taking part in The 28 Challenge, I am helping to raise funds to train more dogs. Any donation, however large or small, will really help.

Why I am taking part
Tuesday 20th Jan I have been a volunteer for five years. We have trained 3 hearing dogs, a sound support dog and a comfort and companion dog. Each dog has been absolutely wonderful and life enhancing. I have ME/CFS which has deteriorated to the extent that I can no longer train dogs. When they heard I couldn't train pups any more and was planning to get my own poodle, Hearing Dogs gave me beautiful Ambassador Ruby to look after forever. I am so blessed. I am raising money to say thank you Hearing Dogs for entrusting Ruby to our care. Share
