"I lost my hearing over the course of about three months. It was terrifying and isolating. I already experienced anxiety, but losing my hearing made it so much worse. I felt very vulnerable, really lonely and unsafe.

“Alfie completely turned everything around for me. I went from being so anxious and not leaving the house, to going out every day. I also feel safe with him in the house, knowing he will alert me if the smoke alarms went off. It’s like a totally different life.

“I often say Alfie is my soulmate. I feel more connected to the world around me with him there. With him, I don’t feel alone anymore.”
