I'm raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

This October, I'm taking part in The Great British Dog Walk. Every mile I walk, and every pound I raise, will help train more life-changing hearing dogs for deaf people.

Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, such as the smoke alarm, alarm clocks and even intruder alarms and baby monitors. They also provide lots of love, companionship and emotional support, which is really important as many deaf people can feel lonely and isolated.

It costs £25,000 to fully train a hearing dog, so by taking part in The Great British Dog Walk, I am helping to raise funds to train more dogs. Any donation, however large or small, will really help.

Monday 27th Oct
Been naughty not updating daily 
But been good with our walks… 
We at 80 miles now, way pass our 50 miles target 
Walks have been local trying to avoid getting anymore soakings 

Had lovely walk around woods 
Pit stop for breakie another 5 miles to 

It’s the final countdown down

So proud of what Orca and I have achieved 🐕‍🦺

Days 18 - 21

Tuesday 21st Oct
We had a lovely weekend away 
Walked 23miles along the River Thames 
Had lots of rain but we didn’t let it stop us.. 
See so many beautiful places.. 

Walked loops 2 loops 
Marlow to Henley on Thames 
and Maidenhead to Bray 
A few little other walks in between to 

I’ve passed my original goal of 50 miles now 
Let’s see if I can reach 100miles 

Day 17

Saturday 18th Oct
A lazy one today 
Just a mile on morning walk 
Orca having a rest day
Saving her energy as busy & eventful few days planned ahead 
Lots of walking 🐕‍🦺
Will be smashing through those miles and reaching our 50mile target 

Day 16

Saturday 18th Oct
Today had a lovely walk over nature reserve finished off with Orca playing with her favourite toy in the field 

Day 15

Thursday 16th Oct
Another mile this morning added. 🐕‍🦺
This afternoon had a trip to local garden centre, all the Xmas decorations out now 
Met a lovely lady who kindly sponsored us when told her of our walking challenge this month…
The sponsors are still coming in 
The miles are going up 😀

Day 14

Tuesday 14th Oct
Just a slow 1 mile walk today locally 
Head not feeling to good.. 
On track for reaching my 50 mile goal so all is good still 

Day 13

Tuesday 14th Oct
Just an easy one today after long walk Sunday.  2 miles completed 
Lovely walk around the edge of woods 
Been so lucky with the gorgeous weather 

Day 12

Sunday 12th Oct
A lovely early morning start with my walking crew to Hullbridge for breakfast and back via woods 
7 miles today 

Fab news I’ve reached £500 
This is amazing 
I wonder if we can push to £600 😀🙏🏻

Day 11

Sunday 12th Oct
Love the weekends 
Lots more time to enjoy our walks together.. A friend joined us today a lap of the woods with a cuppa half way.. 
5 miles on the clock today 

Not far off £500 
Let’s see if we can get to this before I’m way what through the month 🐕‍🦺🐾❤️🙏🏻

Friday 10th Oct
A day out in London today 
Walked a lot more miles but couldn’t keep track of them all… 
Another few more miles added still 🚶‍♀️
Walking to station 🚂😃

Day 9

Thursday 9th Oct
We into week 2 now 
Clocking up the miles slowly but surely 🐕‍🦺An early start with a lovely 2 mile walk this morning with Orca around the beautiful local nature reserve and up the mount 

Spoilt for choice on  our doorstep with so many amazing walks … 
No 2 days are the same 

Day 8

Wednesday 8th Oct
Lots of walking today but around shops!! 
Orcas been so good 
Loves shopping with me 🛍️🐕‍🦺
Nothing recorded!! 
Naughty 👿 
Finished off with nice meal this evening

Tuesday 7th Oct

Wow I’m lost for words so much support from all all you 
You’ve been amazing ! 🤩 

Today I decided to leave my car at home and go about my usual day on foot 
Another 3 miles added today 😀🐕‍🦺with special little Orca by my side xx

Monday 6th Oct
Updated my target to £300.

Sunday 5th Oct

2 miles today, followed by a game of fetch over park before I hit the shops this afternoon ! 🛍️

Saturday 4th Oct
Finally got my Strava app up & going so can log my walks properly 
So here we go 🐕‍🦺
Just the odd few miles over the last few days 
Today was lovely countryside walk. 
 11 miles to Hullbridge & back with little stop off for lunch 
So lucky living in countryside spoilt for choice with our daily walks

For those that know my Orca, know how very special she is to me and is my perfect 🐕‍🦺 companion.
She’s been a big life changer and like all support dogs given me to confidence to do many things. 
Together, we are going to undertake the “Walking for October Challenge” and raising money and awareness for an amazing charity.  With your help we can give others the opportunity to be as lucky as I am and provide much needed funds to help train and support this amazing charity.
