We're raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
This October, Albert and I will be taking part in The Great British Dog Walk. While we walk everyday, this time we are walking to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf people. Every mile we walk, and every pound we raise, will help train more life-changing hearing dogs.
Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to
important and life-saving sounds, such as the smoke alarm, alarm clocks and
even intruder alarms and baby monitors. They also provide lots of love,
companionship and emotional support, which is really important as many deaf
people can feel lonely and isolated.
Albert and I have been together for nearly 10 years now, and he has completely
changed my life since day 1. Albert is absolutely amazing. He is very clever, loving, and my constant companion. I honestly don't know what I would do without him. He has given me the
confidence to achieve things that I wouldn't have done without him. He has made
me a more confident person, and also he has made me visible! He’s my ears, my
best friend, my companion, my whole world and I love him to bits. Thanks to Hearing Dogs, partnerships like ours are possible. This charity truly changes lives, and we hope to raise as much as
we can to help them.
It costs £25,000 to fully train a hearing dog, so by taking
part in The Great British Dog Walk, we are helping to raise funds to train more
dogs. Any donation, however large or small, will really help.
As you are aware that Albert is a hearing dog, so it's very important that he
and (all hearing dogs) are allowed to have time, just to enjoy being a
"dog", doing things they love. A walk is one of these things that
Albert loves to do.
Albert will wear his PitPat tag which will record how many miles he walk each
day including at home, out working etc. My watch will record how many miles we
walk together on a walk. Remember Albert being a spaniel, he'll do more miles
than me! I'll share some photos/videos of our walk. Our miles for each walk
during October will be vary everyday.

Saturday 1st Nov 📅 Day 31 – The Final Day of our Great British Dog Walk! 🥾🐾🍂✨🎃👻 Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
We did it… 31 days of walkies for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People! 🎉🐶💙 What an incredible journey it has been!
Today we enjoyed one long walk around the park and went a bit further than usual:
🥾 My watch: 3.41 miles
🐾 Albert’s PitPat: 8.2 miles
The weather was gloomy 🌥 but luckily we missed the rain! Albert had the best time exploring, sniffing and running around. He wore his Halloween bandana 🎃👻 which added a little spooky fun to our autumn walk 🐶🐾 And of course, the crows joined in too! They’ve been walking with us all month 🤣🐦⬛

Thursday 30th Oct 📅 Day 30 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🐾🍂✨We’re back into our usual routine with our walkies! 🐾🥾
And guess what? Two walkies done today! 😁✨
It may have been a gloomy day at our local park, but that never stops us from having fun! 😍
The crows joined us again — they must be trying to get their miles in too! 🐦🤣

Thursday 30th Oct 📅 Day 29 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🐾🍂✨We’ve been away for a few days, and we’re now back home 🏡
After arriving at home this afternoon, we went for a walk at our local park — such a lovely way to stretch our legs after the long journey 🌞
The crows missed us! 🐦⬛ Albert had a fantastic time exploring and enjoying the fresh air 🐾

Monday 27th Oct 📅 Day 26 (26/10/2025) of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🐾🍂✨Don’t think Albert has realised the clocks have gone back… ⏰ He woke me up at 5:27am, staring right at me like, “Come on, it’s breakfast time!” 🤣🙈👀
A gloomy day! Bit of mixed, sun, drizzle and windy but that doesn't stop us having fun! 🍁🐶😍🙈
We enjoyed a lovely walk at our local park this morning and another gentle stroll later in the afternoon around housing estate 🍂🐾🏠

Thursday 23rd Oct 🐾✨ Day 23 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🍁Two lovely walks today at our local park 🐾🥾🌞
First, we walked through the park on the way to the hairdressers 💇♀️ A very kind staff gave Albert a dog treat 😍 I paused my watch while inside, then unpaused it when we left, walking back through the park on the way home — 2.12 miles 👏🏻
Later this afternoon, we enjoyed a gentle stroll around housing estate 🏠 1.06 miles 👏🏻

Thursday 23rd Oct 📅 (22/10/2025)🎉🐾✨ Day 22 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🎂🥾🍁
Today’s walk was extra special because… it’s my birthday! 🥳🎈 Even on my birthday, Albert and I are still walking for a cause that means so much to us — raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People 🐕❤️
We had a bit of a lazy birthday morning (well deserved! 😴), but later on we set off for a beautiful walk around a park with a stunning lake view 🌳💧 My parents came with us too! ❤️
When we started, it was dark, gloomy, and rainy 🌧 … but then the sun made an appearance! ☀️ Yay! We loved every moment of it 🥰
There were a couple of crows too — we’re not sure if they’re as friendly as our little crow friends back home 🐦 Some flew away, but one stayed close and happily enjoyed a few of Albert’s treats 🤣 I think word has spread in the crow world that Albert shares snacks! 🐦💙🐾
Albert had so much fun running around and sniffing all the new smells 🐶💛
It was such a stunning place — truly a pawfect way to spend my birthday 🎂🐾✨

We only did one walk this morning (and managed to miss the rain again — yay! 🌧🍂), as we went out in the afternoon with our friends for a birthday celebration — bowling and a meal 🎳🎂
Albert was an absolute superstar as always 💙 He got very excited when I played bowling — it’s been nearly six years since I last played, so I’m a bit rusty! 🤣 He did get a little worried when I briefly left him with a friend while I took my turn, but I reassured him straight away that I wasn’t leaving him ❤️ Once he realised I kept coming back, he settled beautifully — taking it all in his stride. He is absolutely amazing. Love him so much 🥹🐾❤️

Monday 20th Oct 🍁✨ Day 20 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🐾It’s my 'birthday' week 🥳🎂 — and we started it with an early morning walk at our local park 🍁🐶🍁🍂
Luckily, we didn’t get caught in the rain! 🌧️
After our walk, we spent most of the day at the shopping centre 🛍️ and managed to stay dry 😁
Albert was an absolute superstar as always 🌟 — he loves saying hello to everyone and made so many people smile ❤️🐾 He truly brightens up every day 🥰
We didn’t do another walk in the late afternoon since we spent around 3–4 hours walking while shopping (oops! 😅). As soon as we got home, Albert curled up for a well-deserved power nap 💤😴🐾

Sunday 19th Oct Day 17 of our Great British Dog Walk – Rest Day! 🐾🥾✨No walkies for us today — we’re having a much-needed rest day! 😴
After such a busy day yesterday (especially for Albert 🐾), both of us are taking it easy and letting our paws and feet recover 🐾💙
Rest days are just as important as walk/working days — they help Albert:

🦴 Keep his joints healthy
🧠 Recharge his mind
⚡ Boost his energy for the next adventure

Thursday 16th Oct Day 16 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨Today’s adventure took us to Alton Towers to celebrate not one, but two birthdays — mine (a pre-birthday treat, as it’s my birthday next week!) and my dad’s birthday today! 🎂🥳 Double celebration day! 💕
Albert was an absolute superstar as always 💙 He couldn’t join me on the rides, of course, but my parents looked after him while I went on.
Every time I came back, he greeted me with the biggest welcome — tail wagging, happy paws, and all! 🥹🐶❤️
He had such a lovely time too, walking around the park and making both staff and visitors smile 😀
I tried my best to keep track of our steps — pausing my watch while waiting in queues or on rides, and starting it again once I was back with Albert 🚶♀️🎢

We’ve got another busy day tomorrow, so we’re saving our energy for it 💪

Tuesday 14th Oct Day 14 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨A quieter day for us today — just one gentle walk at the park this afternoon, as we had a very long and exciting day at Chatsworth yesterday ❤️
This morning, I went on the treadmill while Albert watched (and had a little nap! 😴🐶). I managed 2.01 miles 👏🏻
Then we enjoyed a lovely 1.08-mile walk in the late afternoon 🍂
Altogether: 3.09 miles

Day 13
Monday 13th Oct Day 13 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨What a lovely day! We took the bus to Chatsworth with our friend and had such a wonderful time ✨️ 🚌
We started with a slow walk inside the Chatsworth House — just 0.19 miles, but it took us 1 hour 43 mins 🤣 There was so much to see — beautiful artwork, sculptures, and stunning rooms! Then we explored the gardens, full of gorgeous autumn colours 🍁🍂
Chatsworth House: 0.19 miles
Garden walk: 2.59 miles
Altogether: 2.78 miles 👏🏻
Albert’s PitPat: It came up with an error for some reason 🥺 but I’d say he walked at least 10–11 miles today! 🐶💪

Sunday 12th Oct Day 12 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🐾✨What a beautiful day it’s been! 🌞 I’m absolutely loving all the colourful leaves everywhere 🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂 — let’s hope the weather stays like this for the rest of October! 🧡
Just one walk for us today as we’ve got a busy day ahead tomorrow, so we decided to take it easy and save some energy 😁
Today’s walk: 1.51 miles
Albert’s PitPat: 5.5 miles 🐾💪
We also did a bit of gardening, and then had some fun playtime! 🎾 Albert’s been learning how to put hoops onto a kitchen towel pole stand — he’s getting so good at it! Such a clever boy, keeping his brain busy 🧠😁

Saturday 11th Oct Day 11 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🥾🐾✨Two lovely walks for us today — one in the morning and one in the late afternoon 🌤🍂
The sun finally came out and the blue sky is back! 💙
It was quite chilly this morning, but later in the day it warmed up nicely. We did two walks (we went out in between walks, with Albert wearing his working uniform — such a clever boy) 💙🐶 🐾
Afterwards, we sat outside in the garden making the most of the sunshine! 🌞
Morning walk: 1.08 miles
Afternoon walk: 1.18 miles
Altogether = 2.26 miles

The crows joined us again, and there are so many leaves on the ground now — it’s really starting to feel like autumn 🍁🐾

Thursday 9th Oct Day 9 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨A shorter one for us today — we did 1.34 miles in total, with a little walk in the morning and another in the late afternoon. Plenty of sniffs and two gentle, easy walks for Albert 🐶🍂
We were out shopping in between 🛍 so I didn’t want to overtire my superstar hearing dog, Albert, after his full day of work 💙
His PitPat says he’s done 8 miles in total! 😯

Thursday 9th Oct Day 8 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨ (8/10/2025)Today we had a bit of an adventure — we travelled to a different park by bus and train with our lovely friend who joined us for the day! 🚉🐶
What a beautiful place it was 😍 Everything’s starting to look so autumny 🍁🍂
We walked 2.25 miles from the train station to the park, all the way around the lake, and to the café where we stopped for a yummy lunch 😋☕ Then we explored a bit more before heading back to the station — another 0.75 miles!
Total: 3 miles 👏🏻

Wednesday 8th Oct Day 7 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨A bit of a gloomy one today — no blue skies or sunshine, just plenty of grey clouds ☁️ But that didn’t stop us! We still enjoyed two lovely walks around our local park 🌳🐶 Crows joined us again 🐦⬛😊

Tuesday 7th Oct Day 6 of our Great British Dog Walk is complete! 🐾🥾✨ (6/10/2025)What a gorgeous autumn day 🌞🍂 We enjoyed a lovely morning walk before heading out in the afternoon — a bit of shopping, followed by a meal and a catch-up with our lovely friend 🛍️🍽️💬
Albert did plenty of walking throughout the day — both on our morning stroll and while out and about in his Hearing Dog uniform 🐶💙 He takes his job so seriously and always makes me so proud ❤️ He even got a few smiles and compliments while working (he absolutely loves the attention!) 😄
It’s always important to find the right balance between walking and working, making sure Albert doesn’t overdo it 🧡🐾

Day 5
Sunday 5th Oct Day 5 of our Great British Dog Walk is done! 🐾🥾We had two lovely walks at our local park today — one in the morning and one in the afternoon! A little windy thanks to Storm Amy, but still such a beautiful day to get out and about 🌤️💨
Morning walk: 1.28 miles
Afternoon walk: 1.15 miles
Total: 2.43 miles 👏🏻
There were lots of conkers on the ground — the wind must have been strong to knock so many down! Don’t worry, Albert didn’t touch them at all 😊. We even spotted some mushrooms 🍄 Albert left those alone too!
The crows joined us on our walk 🐦 During the COVID lockdown, we made friends with a few crows at the park, and ever since 2020 they’ve sometimes flown over to see us — even joining us on our walks! 🐦 They patiently wait for me to share a few of Albert’s treats (which they love!). Albert doesn’t mind sharing either — sharing is caring, after all 😍 They don’t follow anyone else, just us (see video!).
We had lots of fun as always, and Albert’s PitPat showed he clocked up 6.3 miles today! 🐶👏🏻

Day 4
Saturday 4th Oct Day 4 of our Great British Dog Walk is done — indoors this time! 🥾🐾Storm Amy arrived with plenty of wind and rain today 🌧️💨, so I decided it was safer for Albert and me to stay indoors — safety first!
Albert’s been working really hard lately, so today was the perfect opportunity for him to have a well-earned rest day 🐶💙. It’s so important for dogs, especially working dogs like Albert, to have the right balance between activity and rest ❤️
While Albert relaxed (and kept a close eye on me from his comfy bed 😄), I jumped on the treadmill and walked 3.03 miles 💪👏🏻 Albert still managed to get some steps in around the house and garden — his PitPat showed 3.5 miles! 🐾 Not bad for a rest day! 😄 (I didn’t put his collar on until late morning).

Saturday 4th Oct Day 3 of our Great British Dog Walk is done! 🐾🥾We’re back home now after a lovely few days away in Blackpool 💙🐾
Before we headed home, we squeezed in a quick walk around the caravan site 🏕🐶 and once we were back, we carried on with a walk in our local park 🌳🌧 Albert enjoyed being back on his familiar paths, sniffing every corner as usual 💙😁🐶🐾✨️🍂🧡
In total, our walk today came to 2.04 miles 👏🏻 — while Albert, wearing his PitPat all day, clocked an amazing 7.7 miles 🐾💙
