Raising money to support a life changing Hearing Dog for Deaf People
This October, I'm taking part in The Great British Dog Walk. Every mile I walk, and every pound I raise, will help Hearing Dogs for Deaf People provide practical support services for those with hearing loss and train more life-changing hearing dogs for people that need them.
Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, such as the smoke alarm, alarm clocks and even intruder alarms and baby monitors. They also provide lots of love, companionship and emotional support, which is really important as many deaf people can feel lonely and isolated.
It costs £70,000 to fully train a hearing dog. Any donation, however large or small, will really help.

The Phoenix Trail
Monday 5th Oct We had a great 10mile walk on the Phoenix Trail between Princes Risborough and Thame. It’s a disused railway so very flat but great training for Preston as there were lots of other walkers, cyclists, horses and even rabbits and 6 guinea fowl!! Preston was perfect!! Share
A couple of days
Saturday 3rd Oct A couple more short walks taking in Common Wood - ancient woodland near Penn - which is perfect for a walk and the Hughenden valley. Some good training with encounters with horses, people, other dogs and squirrels!!!
A simple start
Thursday 1st Oct First walk complete. Not too far at 4.6 miles but it was in the lovely fields and woodland around Penn. To be honest this is a challenge I will enjoy!! ShareThank you to my Sponsors
