I am raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

For the last 4 years my family and I have volunteered for the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf by socialising and training puppies in our home. 

In this time we have had 6 puppies, with 2 succesfullly qualifying and now living with their deaf partner. 

Each puppy arrives with us at 8 weeks old and they live in our home full time during their training journey from general obedience training through to specific sound work training. This can take up to 2 years. 

From about the age of 6 months we take them out and about on public transport and to shops and restaurants getting them used to a range of environments.

It now costs around £70,000 to raise one hearing dog and with long waiting lists to receive a  trained dog it is imperative that awareness and fundraising is front and centre.

As you know I do like to bake, eat cake and have a natter ! So on 18th September I will holding a Paws for Cake afternoon to help raise much needed funds. 

Dotty and her bother Dobby, along with his volunteer trainer Julie, will be there to answer any questions you may have about the charity.
