I am running London Marathon for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a charity that means a great deal to my family, and I feel incredibly honoured to be running the London Marathon to support them.
My uncle, Pete, was born deaf and has relied on hearing aids for all of his life. In 2014, he received the life-changing news that he was being matched with a hearing dog: Buster.
Buster was a Labrador Retriever with a big appetite and an even bigger heart. He alerted Pete to everyday sounds that many of us take for granted – the doorbell, incoming text messages, and most importantly, the fire alarm, but he also provided something just as important: companionship. Deafness can be incredibly isolating, and Buster was a constant source of comfort.
Sadly, Buster passed away at Christmas 2024, leaving a huge gap in Pete’s life. Pete is now back on the waiting list, hoping to be matched with another incredible hearing dog.
It costs around £26,000 to fully train a hearing dog. By sponsoring my London Marathon run, you’ll be helping Hearing Dogs for Deaf People transform lives like Buster did for Pete.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support.
