Help me reach my goal of £2,500

I am raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

Every penny I raise will help more hearing dog puppies to be trained, so that one day they can transform a deaf persons life.

My wife is profoundly deaf, and one day hopes to be matched with a hearing dog. Through the application process, i've seen first hand how life-changing hearing dogs can be for deaf people. I'm raising money for Hearing Dogs without her knowledge and hope to surprise her nearer the time!

Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, such as the smoke alarm, alarm clocks and even intruder alarms and baby monitors. They also provide lots of love, companionship and emotional support, which is really important as many deaf people can feel lonely and isolated.

It costs £25,000 to fully train a hearing dog, so the Challenge I am taking on is a great way to raise funds to train more dogs. Any donation, however large or small, will really help.

Just a little note to those who visit this page before it closes in (probably) June. 
Thank you so much to all my sponsors for helping me to reach and surpass my fundraising target. It means the world!

If you're here to chuck a few quid into the pot, not a penny goes to waste on training these amazing dogs to change the life of deaf people. I'd implore you to visit Hearing Dogs on Facebook or via your search engine of choice to read about them, watch some testimonial videos or just look at cute puppies in training. They are the superheroes in all this!

One month and counting

Friday 27th Mar
Nearly 300 miles of training this year so far and that "victory lap" of running the actual marathon is within sight. I have to remind myself that at over 21 stone, in my mid-forties, I'm probably not going to win (not with that attitude!), so less compete and more complete: cross that finish line and collapse into a bath of Lucozade and spaghetti (or probably just have a nice cup of tea and an early night).

Spring has spru... Oh, it's raining. Again.

Saturday 28th Feb
The end of February is here and I have just passed the 200 mile mark in terms of training for the marathon this year. I keep hearing that the marathon is a victory lap at the end of training and I hope it feels like that.
