Miss Hampshire Finalist 2026
Growing up as a CODA, with two deaf parents we had a beautiful collie who helped my mum and dad with alerts. When me and my brother was at school Ross (dog) would assist my mum and dad where necessary at home. Now that I’ve had many years seeing how difficult and complicated life can be for deaf people to navigate in a hearing world, these dogs are trained to help assist and not just that but be a companion for those who feel isolated in a hearing dominated world. This charity is incredible and to push myself beyond what I thought were my own boundaries will honestly change me life evermore. Just as it will for those who really need it.
Every penny raised will help more hearing dog puppies to be trained, so that one day they can transform a deaf persons life. Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds, such as the smoke alarm, door knocks, assisting in public, and even intruder alarms and baby monitors.
This charity will push me beyond my own breaking point, for something so close to my heart and to push for more support in making a bigger difference.
